Since 2010 the unique and historic village of Lindfield in Mid Sussex has hosted this spectacular annual arts events and helped Lindfield to become the creative hub in Mid Sussex.
During that time the Lindfield Arts Festival has attracted many thousands of visitors from far and wide, to celebrate art in all its forms. Everyone involved believes passionately in the aims of the Festival, which are to advance the education of the public in the arts in all their forms through delivering an exciting and dynamic annual arts event that will enhance the quality of life for people living within Mid-Sussex and the surrounding areas.
Participants come from a wide area and demonstrate the amazing talent to be found in the South East of England and especially the local area. The Festival has a superb reputation amongst creative individuals and festival devotees.
The Trustees are looking to expand the Team of Volunteers and are looking for the following support.:
PR, Marketing & Communications Officer | Event Promotion Volunteer | Fund-raising Co-ordinator | Fund-raising Volunteer | Creative Programme Organiser | Programme Volunteer | Events Manager | Venue Co-ordinator | Festival Volunteer
What will I be doing?
All the roles and responsibilities are discussed with each volunteer. However, depending on the role you decide on, you may be asked to:
help identify local promotional opportunities such as within shops, gyms and clubs
act as an ambassador by promoting the event among your friends, family and colleagues
distribute event materials such as posters and leaflets in your local area
help the marketing team to coordinate and deliver marketing activity.
develop strategies and setting goals to hit fund-raising targets
find people to donate money
keep in touch with existing donors and stakeholders
meet and greet participants and spectators
help set up and clear down the event
help with administration
What skills, experience and attributes do I need?
Along with having a community spirit, a keen interest in the Arts and great communication and interpersonal skills, we ask that you are:
flexible and pro‐active
able to take the initiative and think creatively
enthusiastic about the Lindfield Arts Festival
willing to work as part of a team.

Who will I be volunteering with?
You’ll be volunteering as part of the team making the Lindfield Arts Festival an annual reality, working with other volunteers and LAF Trustees, helping to ensure that the event is successful, inclusive and meets its objectives.
How much time will I be expected to give?
We’ll value any amount of time you can give, whether it’s a couple of hours once a month, or a day a week in the lead up to an event. Specific roles may involve time and energy in the planning and preparation of the Festival. We will hope that you can commit to the event itself.
Things you need to know
For volunteers at the Lindfield Arts Festival, we’ll provide essential kit such as a tabard, but you will need to dress appropriately for the conditions and the task. For administrative roles, we have templates, databases and previous Festival archives to refer to.
What can I expect from Lindfield Arts Festival?
In return for your valuable help we aim to ensure that volunteering for the LAF is a fulfilling and worthwhile experience. You’ll have support from the Trustees, with the opportunity to gain and develop skills and meet other volunteers.
