A range of local arts & crafts people will be exhibiting and selling their work in the King Edward Hall, Saturday 17th September.

Berry and the Bear: specialise in ethical gifts and homeware. From the stunning recycled aluminium tableware range to mango wood chests, each piece is made from sustainable resources. The skilled craftspeople who hand-make their products all experience fair terms and conditions (most work for Fairtrade organisations). Cecilia Wiseman: has worked with fabrics for a long time, she’s very enthusiastic about her creations and is always looking for new ideas, practical and different designs and quirky fabrics.  Cecilia’s handmade products include handbags made with different selected fabrics, cushion covers, kindle and I-pad cases, wash bags, draft excluders and door stoppers, tea cosies, aprons and small gifts. There’s also have a limited selection of small leather accessories: small wallets, glass cases, key rings and purses.

Comfort Cushions: Avril has lived Burgess Hill for 17yrs, having retired 5yrs ago, she was looking something to do… as Avril always loved sewing it was the way to go; and Comfort Cushions was born. She makes fabric Teddy Bears for babies to adults, cushion in several sizes and designs with names if required and baby gift packs and other smaller gifts. Elizabeth Worrall Bailey: Enjoys capturing the beauty, vibrant colours, textures, and peaceful feelings invoked by nature in her art work. Elizabeth uses mainly her hands and fingers when painting making Elizabeth’s popular paintings individually unique. Elizabeth has studied art at college, taught in local schools, and sells her art work internationally. She will be working with CHEC (Chailey Heritage Enterprise Centre) the local printing company to produce prints and cards for the LAF. For commissions, cards, coasters and prints eabailey3@gmail.com

Elliot Pryor: Elliot’s talent for Art was only discovered about 18 months ago when he was able to participate in a Sensory Art Session. Art has been a massive help to Elliot as he has Asperger’s Syndrome. Being able to express himself through his art has been a fabulous release to his anxiety which can affect his life so significantly. Elliot is 12 years old and is a learner at LVS Hassocks. Julia Vokes is a local independent Phoenix Trader covering the Lindfield and Mid Sussex areas with quality greetings cards and stationery at sane prices.  All of Phoenix’s lovely cards are printed in the UK thus supporting the British printing industry. Julia can also do ‘at home’ parties or craft fairs and has helped many people to raise funds for their chosen charity or good cause. Sage Ceramics: Yvonne is a potter based in Storrington, West Sussex working from her home studio producing wheel thrown functional ware using white earthenware clay, which is hand decorated with coloured underglazes. Designs are fresh and uncomplicated using a soft pallet of colour and are inspired by the countryside. Terry Guile: Terry designs and makes silver jewellery using semi-precious stones and pearls. Using silver wire or sheet which is cut, texture and form into the finished piece.  Terry was brought up locally on a farm on the South Downs just outside of Brighton and now lives in a village in near Steyning. www.terryguile.com

Vanilla Pod Designs: by Kathy Thoms offers a variety of handmade bags, concentrating on mixing different patterns and textures so that each bag is unique. Also on offer is handmade jewellery, many of the sets using semi-precious stones.

While Darcey Sleeps: Karen Lorenz set up her company While Darcey Sleeps in 2015, so called because Karen’s puppy Darcey would only let her work when she slept!
