One of the most frequent questions we, the volunteer team behind the Lindfield Arts festival, are asked is: “I’d like to become more involved with the Arts Festival. Can I volunteer to help on the day and how do I do this?”
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our festival. Without the help and dedication from them and the community we would not be able to host a successful festival.
So, do you have an hour or two to spare to help us distribute programmes at either Haywards Heath Station or at the large Sainsburys?
- Sainsburys booked on Wednesday 31st August from 10.00am – 1.00pm and Sunday 11th September again from 10.00am – 1.00pm
- HH station booked to distribute programmes on September 1st between 5.30-7.30pm
Could you help us with handing our the programmes? We’d be most pleased and certainly it will help spread the word about our terrific Saturday 17th September programme.
There are some excellent motives to volunteer, and people volunteer for a wide variety of reasons.
Sometimes the main reason is altruistic in wanting to help others but selfishly, it could be so you reap a benefit; and if you are job searching there is even more reason to consider being a volunteer.
Be part of your community
Being part of a volunteering project gives one a strong sense of community and working with like-minded, passionate people, all working for the same cause, can be very invigorating and rewarding.
Volunteering is not just about giving your time and energy or sharing your knowledge; it is a two-way process that can make you feel valued, be occupied and whilst volunteering you can develop your skills and expertise and explore an alternative career.
